Individuality

So many students are trapped into living in an illusion, I almost lose faith in my generation. They operate under the impression that they are individuals and are capable of thinking for themselves. Thinking that they are making a statement only their own, they dress in ridiculous clothing and wear impracical hair styles. By doing this they prove their week-mindedness. They have fallen directly in with the crowd.
Students also believe that, because of the fact that they support different social issues than their parents, they are thinking for themselves. Very rarely is this correct. Usually what has happened is that they listen to a professor's political rambling. They believe that because he has a PhD, their biology professory must be the image of wisdom, which is, of course, complete stupidity. What the professor did have is the time and money to get a PhD.
So, to my fellow students out there, I challenge you to truely think for yourselves. Do not blindly accept all that those who have power over you tell you. Research issues for yourself before making a stand.

Could this be the beginning?...Joel is finally making this a political blog?!?!

Joel, do not worry about our generation...once they get married, have kids, get a real job, pay insane taxes, and just live in reality (once the parental umbilical is cut) for some time, they will realize the error of their entrenched myopic zeal.

Give us more, O Caesar!
